Various "small craft" are pulled up above the high-tide line at this beach on Cape Cod Bay. Just in the last decade the high tide line here has moved several yards inland and several houses have had to be moved or removed. Some locations are like the canary in the coal mine, the effects of climate change have been obvious for a while, but at this point I believe it's pretty obvious just about everywhere.
I have my father to thank for my lifelong interest in photography. Even today the smell of 'hypo' brings me back to our basement darkroom. My artistic side comes from my mother who always carried a sketch pad where ever she went. Several years after college we were experiencing a recession and I went back to school for a two year photography program, but shortly thereafter life's circumstances sent me in other directions. Only in the last few years, but now in the digital age, have I renewed my passion for the medium. As you will see, my main interest is in nature and landscape work, but I also have experience in interior and exterior architecture as well as studio and industrial applications. There are signs on the Falmouth beach showing where the tide line will be in a few years, and it's very close to the road. It's changing the flood insurance requirements for home owners blocks back. Very sad. But I love this shot Michael. The colorful boats on the sand are wonderful! l/f!
