Great shot, Michael...I remember these bicycles, reckon I'm telling my age.

Thanks Karen! I reckon our age is about the same. :)

Artist's Description

This was taken at the Museum of Springfield History in Springfield, Massachusetts. The city, on the Connecticut River, was a center of manufacturing in the 19th and 20th centuries. Many things were made here from shampoo and cosmetics to Rolls Royces! But as technology advanced and labor was cheaper elsewhere the city has declined. About the only major manufacturing company left is Springfield Armory.

In spite of her economic difficulties, Springfield remains a wonderful place to live with many beautiful old homes, parks, a symphony, museums, a zoo and much more.

About Michael Friedman

Michael Friedman

Several years after college we were experiencing a recession and I went back to school for a two year photography program, but shortly thereafter life's circumstances sent me in other directions. Only in the last few years, but now in the digital age, have I renewed my passion for the medium. As you will see, my main interest is in nature and landscape work, but I also have experience in interior and exterior architecture as well as studio and industrial applications.
