Description
Here in the Lake Sunapee region of New Hampshire it's been a great year for hydrangeas. The summer began cool and damp, and later cool and dry. Yet this fall it's been almost like summer - the nights get cool and we've had a couple of frosts but the days are averaging 12 - 15 degrees above normal. So while the hydrangeas and other species seem happy, many others, especially the maples and many of the pines and spruce seem stressed. Just another sign that climate change is upon us . . .
